Core engine

14-Layer Synthesis Engine

Most astrology apps look up keywords for your placements and call it a day. Chaldea runs every chart through a 14-layer analytical pipeline, the same process a skilled Hellenistic astrologer follows, but at a depth and consistency no human could sustain across every reading.

Scope
14 analytical layers

From sect and rulership to tensions, themes, and final weighting.

Outcome
One coherent reading

The engine ranks which signals matter most instead of dumping disconnected keywords.

Method
Traditional chart logic

Whole-sign houses, dignities, Lots, receptions, aspects, and contextual weighting.

Difference
Contradictions stay visible

Conflicting chart factors are explained, not averaged into mush.

Why Synthesis Matters

A natal chart is not a collection of isolated placements. Mercury in Virgo means something different when it rules the Ascendant, stands in a day chart, conjoins the Lot of Fortune, and gets activated by an annual profection. Context changes the meaning.

Most astrology software skips that part. It serves delineations one placement at a time, each written as though nothing else in the chart exists. Chaldea's synthesis engine connects the factors the way a traditional astrologer would, weighing each condition against every other condition before it speaks.

What this fixes

Cookbook astrology breaks the moment two chart factors disagree. Chaldea is built to preserve the disagreement, rank the relevant testimony, and explain why one factor carries more weight than another.

The 14 Layers

  1. 1. Sect analysis. The chart is classified as diurnal or nocturnal, identifying the benefic and malefic of sect and establishing the chart's basic polarity.
  2. 2. Ruling chains. Chaldea follows domicile rulership from the Ascendant and other critical points until authority terminates in a planet with real standing.
  3. 3. Lots. Fortune, Spirit, Eros, Necessity, and other Lots are calculated with proper sect-aware formulas, then evaluated by sign, house, ruler, and aspect condition.
  4. 4. Mutual receptions. Planets occupying one another's dignities are identified and scored by type, showing where cooperation exists inside the chart.
  5. 5. Bonification and maltreatment. Benefics and malefics are tracked for support, harm, enclosure, and pressure on key planets.
  6. 6. Angular analysis. Angular, succedent, and cadent placement changes how loudly a planet can act, so Chaldea adjusts influence accordingly.
  7. 7. House connections. When a planet rules one house and occupies another, it links those topics. The engine maps those bridges across the chart.
  8. 8. Aspect analysis. Whole-sign relationships, degree-based contacts, application, separation, and traditional aspect conditions all get tracked.
  9. 9. Element and modality balance. Distribution across fire, earth, air, water, cardinality, fixity, and mutability reveals temperamental emphasis and lack.
  10. 10. Essential dignities. Domicile, exaltation, triplicity, bounds, and decan describe whether a planet has the internal resources to do what it promises.
  11. 11. Configurations. Stelliums and major formations are recognized, but interpreted through traditional chart logic instead of modern pattern worship.
  12. 12. Thematic clustering. Recurring testimony gets grouped so major life themes rise naturally instead of being buried in noise.
  13. 13. Tension mapping. If a planet is dignified but afflicted, or supportive yet tied to a difficult house, the contradiction is surfaced and explained.
  14. 14. Weight scoring. Factors from every earlier layer are ranked so the final reading knows which testimony deserves top billing in this chart.

What Makes It Different

The point is not to sound mystical. The point is to behave like a disciplined analyst. Chaldea does not treat every factor as equal, and it does not flatten technical distinctions into vague personality language.

That means the engine can say something useful when the chart is internally mixed. A dignified planet in a cadent house is not simply strong or weak. It is resourced in one sense and compromised in another. Good astrology leaves both truths intact.

Why astrologers care

This is the difference between software that summarizes placements and software that can actually support chart judgment. One gives you fragments. The other gives you ordered testimony.

The Result

What comes out of the pipeline is not a stack of canned paragraphs. It is a synthesized interpretation, a reading where every statement accounts for multiple factors, contradictions stay visible, and the most important themes rise to the top.

That is the real divide between Chaldea and ordinary astrology apps. It does not just know your placements. It understands how the chart hangs together.
